Kingfisher Birds painted on native Rimu

Salvaged floor boards have been a project I'm recently working on - I clean them and build frames to paint on out of them. Lots of hours are spent sanding and sealing, then painting my Kingfisher birds using my own photos and drawings.

Here you can see a work in progress with photos of a caught and released Kingfisher. My Dad catches them and I photograph them - he knows how to handle them without hurting them. The finished painting will be available from Red Peach Gallery.
