Special Visitor

This Wood Pigeon (Kereru) landed on the branch nearby when I was drawing some ferns for a recent painting. It did not expect me to be there so it left after after a minute along with its friend. They are surprisingly big birds, and have stunning greens and pinks and purples in its plumage up close - we are lucky to have such friendly pigeons throughout nz. This one I painted from the angle of looking up at it resting on the branch.
