Wanaka - Art Awards Craigs Aspiring art competition

I am so thrilled to be accepted into the Craigs Aspiring art Awards this year - I entered a round painting which is number 4 of my Pohutakawa series of acrylic round paintings.
It will be for sale, and this art competition is the annual fundraiser. The opening is next Friday when the winners will be announced. I can't show the painting here as it will be revealed on opening night, but this is one of the others in the series to give you an idea.
It is 40cm round, varnished, and ready to hang. Fingers crossed it brings joy and vibrance to the walls and hearts of the guests. This series has allowed me to have lots of fun with this round composition and I feel like I have pushed some barriers on my painting technique and process - I have brought in plenty of painterly brush strokes and transparency in acrylic paint, and I have also added touches of gold paint to shimmer for the pollen.
Exhibition runs from 14 - 16 January 2023 (opening night on the 13th Jan - tickets are sold out)
